Maisa & Ilari travels: Down Under: syyskuuta 2016

Bula eli moi fidziläisittäin!
Fidzille lennettiin Aucklandista Nadiin kolmen melko viileän viikon jälkeen. Kuulemma saavuimme juuri sopivasti sateiden loputtua ja meidän viikon aikana paistoi koko ajan aurinko. Olipa taas kropalla totuttelemista kuumaan ilmaan ja kosteaan ilmastoon.

Lensimme Nadiin (lausutaan muuten Nandi), jonka laitamilla vietimme koko viikon yhtä mahtavaa päiväretkeä lukuunottamatta. Jos rahaa ja aikaa olisi ollut enemmän, olisimme ehdottomasti menneet jollekin pienelle saarelle resorttiin. Päiväretki tehtiin Wayan saarelle, joka sijaitsee Yasawa-saariryhmässä luoteeseen Viti Levusta, jossa siis Nadi ja Suva sijaitsevat. Siellä pääsimme snorklaamaan, jota oli odotettu jo kauan Suuren koralliriutan jälkeen. Koko Fidzin matkan tarkoitus oli ottaa mahdollisimman rennosti ja se kyllä tehtiin. Meillä oli hotellissa mahtava japanilainen ravintola, jonka antimista nautittiin melkein joka ilta.

Fidziläinen rento ja erittäin ystävällinen kulttuuri sekä uskomattoman kauniit rannat ja korallit ovat sen matkan arvoista, vaikka Suomestakin lähtisi sinne asti. Rahaa kannattaa olla reilusti, koska pienten saarien resortit ovat yleensä all-in-inclusive ja eivät todellakaan mistään halvimmasta päästä mihin ehkä joku on jollain Espanjan lomalla törmännyt. Muutenkaan hintataso ei ole kovin alhainen Fidzillä jos vertaa vaikka Thaimaahan, mutta mielestäni Fidzillä sille rahalle saa paljon paremmin vastinetta.

Bula which is hello in Fijian! After three quite cold weeks in New Zealand we flew from Auckland to Nadi (pronounced Nandi). We were told that we arrived just after the rains and for us it was sunshine the whole week. It was quite a shock for the body again to move from cold to hot and humid.

We spent the week on the outskirts of Nadi except for one day when we took a day trip to Waya island. We got to snorkel and enjoy a bit of the paradise island. If we had have more money and time we would have taken a holiday at some of the resorts on the small islands. That's for next time :) Waya island is part of the Yasawa island group which is located northeast of Viti Levu where Nadi and Suva are.
The main point of whole trip to Fiji was to relax and we really enjoyed our time in the hotel just relaxing by the pool. There was an excellent Japanese restaurant where we ate almost every night.

The best thing about Fiji is it's people. They're the most friendliest and hospitable people there is. The beaches and corals are the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. But the people make Fiji the place to be. It's not the cheapest place to go, if you just think about the flights for starters. The island resorts are mostly all-in-inclusive and not as cheap as in Spain for example. But in Fiji you get better worth for your money compared to Thailand for example.

Bye bye Fiji, welcome L.A.!

Kolme viikkoa Uudessa-Seelannissa vierähti kuin siivillä ihaillen upeita vuoristoja, vuonoja ja vihreitä niittyjä (jotka olivat täynnä lampaita ja lehmiä). Uusi-Seelanti on ehdottomasti kaunein maa, jossa olen koskaan käynyt. Niin monta kertaa tuli vain sanattomaksi niistä maisemista, joita siellä näki. Olo oli myös todella kiitollinen siitä, että pääsi näkemään kaiken sen upean mitä luontoäiti on saanut aikaan.

Reissu alkoi eteläsaarelta Christchurchista ja päättyi pohjoisen ja koko Uuden-Seelannin suurimpaan kaupunkiin Aucklandiin. Sieltä lensimme turvallisesti Fidzille Nadiin, joka lausutaan muuten fidziläisittäin Nandi. Nyt ollaankin jo sitten jätetty Fidzi taakse ja ollaan tultu Los Angelesin kautta San Franciscoon. Fidzillä ei oikein noi Internet-yhteydet ollu parasta luokkaa niin päätin suosiolla jättää blogin päivityksen Jenkkeihin. Losin netti oli niin hidas, että kuvien (saatika videoiden) lataamisesta ei tullut mitään. Täällä on pitänyt vähän kiirettä kuten lomalla aina (miksi?), mutta tässä vihdoinkin nyt tämä :)

Uudessa-Seelannissa meillä oli astetta hienompi campervan kuin Ausseissa ja siinä tuli paria yötä lukuunottamatta nukuttua koko reissu. Tämä mahtava (automaattivaihteinen, vain vuoden vanha) hitop Hiace ristittiin Rockyksi, Rambo olisi ollut varmasti iloinen kun ajeltiin Toyotalla myös Uudessa-Seelanissa.

Kerrankin ajattelin vain lätkästä kuvat tähän näin ja laitella vähän pidemmät kuvatekstit jos on tarvetta. Kuvia on meinaan niin paljon, että ne kertoo kyllä tarinan. GoProsta en valitettavasti kerinnyt/jaksanut/viittinyt ottaa kuvia kun näitäkin on näin paljon :D Valinnanvaikeus iski nytkin ja tässä on yli 100 kuvaa..

Ai niin ja matkamme reittihän löytyy tuolta "Reitti" välilehdeltä jos kiinnostaa tarkemmin missä ollaan pyöritty :) Kilometrejä muuten kertyi Uudessa-Seelannissa yhteensä 3229 km, joista etelässä 2253 km.

Three weeks in New Zealand just passed like a breeze while admiring the beautiful landscapes of mountains, fjords and green pastures (filled with sheep and cows). New Zealand is by far the most beautiful county I've ever been to. The scenery would just make you breathless and thankful that you're able to be there and see everything.

We started our trip from Christchurch which is located on the east coast of the South Island. We ended the trip to North Island in Auckland which is the largest city in New Zealand and flew Fiji from there. The Internet connection wasn't very good in Fiji so I had to postpone the blog post to the States where we are now. The connection in L.A. was super slow so now I'm posting this from San Francisco.

In New Zealand we had a bit bigger and fancier campervan than in Australia. We only slept there except last two nights in a hostel in Auckland. We named the campervan Rocky after Rambo of course we needed to continue his legacy. Rocky was automatic and only one year old so a bit more newer than our dear Rambo.

I've decided to just put a lot of pictures here and maybe write a bit longer caption if needed. There's soooo many pictures and I feel that they tell the story better than I do. It was hard to choose from all the pictures and ended up putting over 100 here, it was not easy.. I didn't even check the GoPro..
